Serenity is not freedom
from the storm, but peace amid the storm.

Life offers us a
wide range of challenges. Whether they are issues we are
just recently dealing with or they are problems that have
been there for years, it often helps to talk to someone else
to get some clarity about the issues that we face. At
Serenity Now Counselling Services, Inc., there are services
available to help people struggling with a large range of
issues. If you have ever wondered why you can not understand
what’s bothering you, there may be some additional insights
that come out of an impartial observer to your experiences.
The quote above was chosen because it is often hoped that
things will all be “fixed” by getting some help. However,
like the monster in the closet when you are a little child,
counselling offers the ability for people to shed a light on
the monster and realize it is just a hanger or a shirt. The
monster no longer exists when the lights go back out even
though those objects that haunted the child still remain
there because now the child knows what really underlies that
fear of the monster. Thus, we are never free from the storm
but with some counselling, there may be new insights that
will help create more peacefulness throughout the challenges
that arise everyday.
Serenity Now was
chosen as the name of the company not to promise results in
a short period of time but to encourage people to realize
that although their lives may have previously been
characterized by suffering or chaos, they have the
opportunity to understand how to live differently in the
present. Also, it is important to highlight the necessity of
living in the present. So often we worry about the past or
what will happen in the future that we ignore our experience
in the present. Although some of our experiences in the past
and our expectations for the future inform our present
experience, paying attention to the present moment can give
us additional insights and help us live to our truest
potential. |
